ZWC-ZAS-ZB National Quiz – Prize hand over

Fostering youth participation in shows was one of the objectives of the strategy. The Next Generation section was entrenched as a Show section to facilitate interaction with youth. It forged linkages with other youth in agriculture associations which proved productive in recruiting members. An exciting addition to the Next Generation activities was the National Schools Quiz Competition, initially attended by Harare and environs primary schools, but became national in 2019 with participation of three best schools from each province. The Quiz competition focused on children’s awareness of Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources. Good sponsorship was secured for Quiz. The messaging at primary school level on the relevance of shows in general and ZAS in particular expanded the ZAS reach in the society. Along with our organizational partners and supporters we managed to handover prizes in Matelebeleland North, Mashonaland West Harare and Mashonaland East Provinces as a way to full capacitate our schools, tertiary colleges and the young towards Agriculture development providing a  three laptops, three – 5000litres bowser tank to Baharm Green, SOS Hermann Gmeiner and Dudley Hall for the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Winner respectively and Floating Trophies for Best Overall Student at Gwebi Agriculture College, Tafadzwa Mvula and KIDZ PARADISE for their participation at the #ZAS110 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2020.
